THE SKY IS THE LIMIT
I was born and raised in Zimbabwe, in a family where folk music was a daily pillar. This deep heritage forged my identity as an artist. Today, I carry this authentic universe through the sacred melodies of the Mbira (thumb piano), an instrument at the heart of my compositions. My unique sound—a fresh blend of Afro-pop, Mbira, and Folk—is inspired by legendary voices such as Miriam Makeba, Angelique Kidjo, and the unforgettable Chiwoniso Maraire.
A multi-talented singer, Mbira player, Fashion Designer, Beautician, and actress, Queen Mashie’s music gained major recognition when she signed with Sound Africa for her second album, Kare Kare (Long Time Ago). She famously collaborated with Mashifta “Miti” on the hit singles “Ulikuwa Wapi” and “Nataka Sitaki”—which reached number one on the NTV charts—as well as with Ammara Brown on the powerful single “Rise.”
