Born and raised in Zimbabwe Queen Mashie brings an authentic musical landscape with her Mbira Sweet melodies. Her family’s deep ties to folk music has driven her to unique skills playing mbira, arranging music, songwriting abilities and has landed her in the spotlight on the international music scene. For the past decade and a half the multi talented France based queen of Afro pop has released 5 albums. In 2006 she released Higher Heights which top chart coca cola on the beat, Kare Kare 2008, Queen Mashie Collaboration 2009, Mbijana Mbijana 2011, Time a classic was released 2015, her latest single Rise was released in 2017.

Career Highlights

The multi talented singer, mbira player, Fashion Designer, Beautician and actress, started singing at a tender age of 9 when she was still in primary school. She took music professionally in 2000 when she joined the Legendary, her late brother ANDY BROWN as a background vocalist for 5 years, she then became solo and moved to Nairobi, Kenya in 2007. Her music was recognised and she was signed with Sound Africa and recorded her 2nd Album Kare Kare (Long time ago).

Queen Mashie collaborated with Mashifta “Miti” and recorded singles “Ulikuwa Wapi” and Nataka Sitaki” the song hits number one on the NTV chats, she also collaborated with Ammara Brown on her single ‘Rise’ and ‘‘Cheu'' collaborated with BaShupi.Queen Mashie believes in supporting the unprivileged and women empowerment. Which has led her to support a Children's Home, Good Samaritan in Kilifi Mombasa, Kenya and also started an annual festival to empower women and support the unprivileged, October Women Festival. Queen Mashie's unique heritage is combined into a fresh sound weaving Afro pop, Mbira and folk, with some influence from female musicians like Chiwoniso Maraire, Mirriam Makeba, and Angelique Kidjo. Queen Mashie has established her current live acts and recordings that has been making waves throughout Europe, UK and Africa, gracing the stages of prominent festivals such as Sauti Za Busara (Zanzibar), Women In Jazz (Zimbabwe) Afro Sonido (Manchester UK), Blankets & Wine (Kenya) and HIFA (Zimbabwe) Chitenge and Wine(Lusaka Zambia), BergmanneStrasse Festival (Berlin Germany) Esteria (Belgium) CRV (Geneve Swiss)among others.
